Heroes: Huginn the Mage, Kahan the Cleric of Weejas, Galen the Jedi, Cal the Beastmaster, Farhad the Ranger, and Urthur the Ranger
The party regroups, collecting Urther as they plan on taking out the lizardmen isle that seems to be the source of all of the lizardmen and troglodytes that seem to keep coming through the portal. They enter the tower and portal over to Manea, only to be greated by a large group of people and tents outside. A group of warriors from Mitra are waiting and claim the tower is a creation of their ancestors. The party is told that the high priestess wishes tot alk to them and to please wait while the warrior leader go gets her. Kahan takes offense to this as he asks for some food and refreshment while the party waits. The request is rebuffed by a female warrior stating they are no servants. In response, he charms the warrior to go get them some food. It is noticed that he charmed her which offends the rest of the warriors around so the party opts to enter the dungeon. Just to make sure it was clear, the party moves to the south of the stairs on the second level down.
Much to their surprise, they run into two small children. They are scared and look ratty. Huginn and Farhad try to comfort them while Kahan and Galen detect psionic probing and put up defenses. Kahan is suspicious and asks if they are dopplegangers. They say no, why would he ask that. He claims to he rest of the party that he is under psionic attack and Galen confirms this. Huginn gets an idea and convinces the party to escort the two to the surface. There an angry group of warriors witht he High Priestess of Mitra. Huginn shows her the children as she admonishes the party for charming one of her warriors. Kahan admonishes them back for their lack of hospitality which the priestess apologizes for. Then, when Huginn asks the priestess to look at the two children as they might be dopplegangers, chaos breaks loose. She exclaims that you brought dopplegangers among us!?! The two children run into the crowd, trying to blend in. Galen, thinking quick, psi blasts the two and renders them unconcious. Their true forms appear and they are indeed dopplegangers. The crowd bludgeons them to death. Huginn and Kahan then explain to the high priestess that the dungeon is not cleared yet and lists all of the dangers. They also tell her to have some workers plaster up the wall covering the door to Chithonis. It is about this time, Kahan's precog shows him something dark is coming. The party assumes it is another bane and when done with the priestess who wants to meet Andar, the go back into the same room they foun the children.
In the small room with the uncovered pit trap, Huginn sends Odindisa down to check to see if she sees anything. She sees some bas reliefs she can't make sense of and an enduring cold. Curious, he asks Galen to bring him down as he wraps up in his warmer robe. The temperatures are near freezing and Huginn has to scrape off frost to see the bas reliefs. It tells the tale of a great flood and humans hid for survival. it seems this might have been one of the locations of them hiding and one of the oldest parts of the dungeon. A hallway leading to darkness lead to the east. The rest of the party came down to help investigate. They follow the path and find a male and female warrior on the ground in armor matching Galen's antique bronze armor. The woman is alive though, but barely. As the party investigate, a weird mass with tentacles and eyes comes out of the wall. The party grabs the bodies while Huginn places a Wall of Faire to protect them. As they flee, Huginn notices his Wall of Fire is snuffed out. Thankfully, the party is far enough away and Galen manages to levitate the party out of the pit. With one dead body and one on the verge of death, Galen goes to work regenerating the female warrior. While he is regenerating them, two weird looking creatures attack. They are brains with four legs. They attack the party, focussing on the psis first. Cal and the wolves try to fend them off but can't damage them. Urthur manages to scratch one and Huginn blasts them. Unfortunately, most of the party is under a confusion spell casts by the evil little creatures. Urthur manages to grab one and throw it down into the pit. While grabbing the other, Farhad knocks it out of his hands. Exasperated, Huginn runs up and kicks it into the pit. Unfortunately, the creature manages to pull Huginn in after it, but he dextrously catches himself. Urthur grabs his butt to pull him up. Huginn winks at him which only makes him blush. Kahan hears the thought devourers mewling in pain and eventually disappear. The party assumes they are destroyed by the weird mass with tentacles and eyeballs. An entity Kahan recognizes from the far realms.
The party retreats to be able to heal the fallen warrior and regroup. They go back to Eon where they rest and recover, healing the female warrior who then tells her story. She is a warrior of the Ptolemi Empire and the male warrior was her superior officer. They were investigating the ruins when they felt cold and saw the creature from the far realms. Then it was all black. Later that night, sensing that Urthur is more receptive of Huginn, Huginn kisses him, but Urthur rejects the advance which hurts Huginn who turns invisible and leaves.
