The heroes (Moorak with Akira, Tycho, and Feyrath, Artec, Hamish, Rhanée with Emrys, Zauloman, Eva, and Jack, Sul, Moonleaf, and Tolenor) continue their assault on the fire giant lair. Rhanée thaws Vanity from her item state and the cleric joins the party. The heroes weather several waves of fire giant assault. Unfortunately, Sul is targeted and slain. Tycho and Feyrath each nearly join him. Moorak manages to timeheal everyone but the mongrel man and the group then has some time during which they loot and prepare to ambush the fire giant king when he returns from his maze experience. The king dies fairly quickly though he does manage to re-summon his genie before he dies. Now freed, the genie, Oussan, offers to join the heroes. They very quickly search the upper and lower levels, discovering very little treasure and that the giants have fled.
The party gives chance and with the dragons as aerial scouts sees that the giants have split into three groups. With Artec's tracking help, the group decides to hunt down the treasure-laden males. Artec and Tolenor unleash withering arrow fire at ridiculous range and manage to take out the males. Moorak flies on with the dragons and takes out the females, though he does try to offer quarter to one, but unfortunately Feyrath didn't understand the gesture and the giantess didn't relent a second time. Ultimately only two females and a child escape.
