Heroes: Aeronne the Paladin of Athena, Ichi the Monk, Mikhail the Psi, Tiana the Water Priestess, Malok the Mage, Low Dog the Totemic Warrior, and Tolus the Fighter
Last we left our heroes, they had entered a large room where the very air was filled with chaos. They tasted smells, felt sounds, and saw unknown things. Attempting to get a grasp on the situation, Tiana casts Dispel magic. This creates a bubble of reality, but not before Aeronne collapses, screaming and holding his head. When he snaps back out of it, he has lost wisdom due to the insanity going on around him and he has lost his paladinhood. He picks himself back up and vows to make this right. Mikhail's humonculus also suffers and collapses, causing Mikhail to also pass out for a bit. When he comes to, he is confused. The bubble of reality starts to shrink and Malok casts protection from evil. This creates a more stable bubble and the party looks around. They see eight portals and a pedestal resembling a sundial. Tiana hears the wizard tell her that he used the last of his magic to talk to her. Please free me and destroy the portals he pleads. Tiana moves to the sundial and notices symbols. Mikhail cannot read the symbols, but notices they match the symbols over the portals of swirling mist. Tiana notices the Chaos symbol and turns the dial to the first symbol. THey see themselves coming out of the portal like they just did. THinking this is the way out, she moves it to the second symbol.
The second portal's mist seems to gain depth and voices are calling from the other side for help. The air also becomes very difficult to breathe. Tying a rope to his waist, he tosses the other end to Ichi and Low Dog, running in. Low Dog tries to stop him, but fails. Aeronne sees swirling mists and even his own body dissolving. He sees the figures that were calling out and realizes they are Slaadi. He pulls on the rope, signalling to the two on the other side to pull him back. They do, but the Slaadi follow Aeronne back in. It is at this point that five brain tentacles started to materialize from the far realms above Ichi. Aeronne is left gasping on the floor. Desperate, Tiana calls to the mace for aid. It hears her and obliges. A thick amber mist pours forth from the mack, bathing the sladdi, but avoiding Ichi and Aeronne. When in haled the Slaadi take poison damage. Unfortunately, the gravity changes and the party is thrown towards the walls. Ichi and Low Dog are thrown from the protective bubble of the Protection from Evil. They maintain their sanity though, fighting the Slaadi. Tiana uses her sandals of flying to prevent any falling damage. Aeronne is thrown to the far wall, taking damage and spraining his ankle. Malok starts lobbing fireballs to kill the invading creatures. Most of the Slaadi we killed by the gravity shift and the party manages to kill the slaadi and grell that were attacking. Connecting some dots, Tiana assumes that the eight arrow pieces of the key match the eight portals. She starts to disassemble the chaos key. Sher finally manages to get one of the arrows off the main key and throws it into the mist. THe portal shatters and is destroyed. Odd creatures appear in the room that are these weird crystakine flying creatures. When one touches a slaadi, he starts to crystalize. The last of the slaadi and grell are killed by the party. Emboldened by that small victory, Tiana moves to remove the next key part while moving the dial to the third symbol. Tiana manages to remove another arrow piece and throw it through the portal where a shadowy wraith beckons her into the portal of the Nightlord. She is reminded of the cloak and is pissed, throwing the arrow piece in and satisfactorily destroying the portal. A chromatic fire starts to burn around Malok and Mikhail, but they are confused as it does not burn or hurt. Unfortunately,Tiana gets slammed to the ground, taking damage from the falland notices her sandals of flying do not work. Tiana works on removing the rest of the arrows while the party avoids the flying things. She eventually manages to get all of the arrows off and hands the piece to Ichi so he can throw the key in. When he throws it, the key won't leave his hands. It is stuck to him. He tries several ways to try and throw it, but to no avail. Finally he shoves his fist into a portal with a beautiful woman urging him to join them. The portal is destroyed, but Ichi sacrifices his finger prints. Tiana then moves it to the 5th symbol, a dismal graveyard, and Ichi destroys the portal. Tiana moves the portal to the 6th symbol. Ichi is waiting for the portal to open and throws the arrow key at a man who resembles the statue that bore the two handed sword. They do the same for the 6th portal, but something happened and Ichi cannot throw the arrow as well. It is like his stats have been changed. He has to throw this one closer. When the portal changes, everyone's age also changes, turning low dog into an old man along with Tolus. Everyone elses age remains relatively close to their original, with Tiana becoming 19 again. Low Dog takes over throwing the arrow into the 7th and 8th portals, one showing a yellow swamp that calls to Tiana'a mace Typhus and the other to a servant of Kara. With both of those destroyed, Tiana moves the sundial to the first symbol again. They see themselves walk into the room again, but 5 misty wraiths appear and turn into writhing and living chains. Low Dog is there and sees several peopl ehe knows. They begin to attack him. One breaks off and moves to Malok. The image turns into Morak, but Aeronne kills the image, defending Malok. The party continues to widdle down the weird wraiths while a cloud of darkness forms above in what looks like a massive swarm of spiders. Tiana, hoping that throwing the last arrow piece will stop the chaos around them, she throws it in the last portal. The monsters disappear and the group finds itself protected by the Protection from Evil spell while pure chaos is erupting around them. Tiana kisses Malok, thinking the end is near and surprisingly, he kisses her back with a ferocity. The party starts to itemize members of the group as the bubble of reality starts to shrink. The swarm of spiders returns, forcing Malok to blast it, delaying their escape. Just before they leave, the party left and not itemized becomes mind swapped. Mikhail, in Low Dog's body, itemizes those left that he can and Malok hides in Tiana's Bag of Holding. Mikhail then time steps the party back three rounds where they see three blue slaadi casting a spell. Low Dog attacks one while Malok breaks out of the bag of holding, literally. Mikhail becomes un itemized and dim doors the party to an unknown coast. Mikhail, taking a breather, states they are now in the past. They are 10,000 years in the past. They need to figure out how to get bck and find a safe place to hide. Mikhail suggests another world. Tiana consults the waters and finds that Eon is the safest. They move there to a valley that is colder, but lush and green. How will the heroes return home to their own time?
