Heroes: Dante the Sorcerer, Adora the shadow sorceress, Fridmar Gnollbane the Cleric and Runecaster of Odin, Raknar the Orc Archer, Sylvi the Cleric of Frigg, Gabriel the child fighter, Lymar the dwarven fighter
Adora had heard of the witches of Klarr in her travels and went there to see why she was a witch. It is what the priest of Angellus called her and that dreaded word made her adopted family reject her and fear her. They advised her she is not a witch, but a sorceress. Jasmine still welcomes her to the city though, seeing she had no where else. They contact Dante to come help her and teach her to explore her powers. He spends some time helping her and walking her through the ropes at the archery range. While doing this, Dante learns that there is an adventure afoot and that Viktor went without him. He gets jealous and urges Adora to go with him. They grab Fridmar, Raknar, Sylvi, Gabriel, and Lymar to go with them. Lymar tracks the other party to some caves. They find a cave that the other party didn’t go through and opt for that entrance. After entering the cave, they find an area where the cave widens, hiding 4 gnolls who attack. Dante and Lymar yell out there are gnolls. This in turn causes Adora to squeal and release a magic missile which stuns one of the gnolls. The rest of the party divides up to attack the others. Fridmar ends up killing three of them, but Sylvi kills the last with a mighty blow. The dwarf leads the way further into the caverns. After a few twists and turns in the cave system,they find the main cave of the gnoll lair filled with 35 gnolls. Most of the gnolls are either asleep or they are not clothed and relaxing. There are a few armored ones though who charge up to the party, blocking the way in for the party.
Dante asks people to make a hole for him, which Fridmar and Lymar do, unfortunately Lymar is hurt badly in the process. Dante attempts to do a spectacular slide move, but falls on his butt where two gnolls take the opportunity to hit him, breaking his icy armor. He launches a fire bolt and takes one out. Gabriel goes to defend his brother Dante while Adora stuns another with a magic missile.
Sylvi attempts to pull the dwarf out of combat to heal him, but true to his blood, he pulls out of her grasp and wades back into battle. Cursing at the stubborness of dwarves, she charges to Dante's side and frees him up so he can cast a spell. Dante casts frost nova which kills all the gnolls in a circle around him. Adora manages to kill two on her own, each with a single blow, shocking her and giving her some confidence in her sword play skills. Just as the tide is turning in favor of the party and about half of the gnolls are down, the gnoll leader comes in with his two sons and 6 females. Raknar stuns the leader and one of his sons. This causes one of the females to run screaming. Dante casts another frost nova amongst the sleeping gnolls. It is not strong enough to take them out, but between the party and another nova from Dante, they clear out the rest of the original gnolls. The leader is taken down by Raknar's arrows as he gravely wounds the stunned son. Adora moves in and takes out the ailing gnoll. The other son, enraged by the death of his brther and father, charges in, but Gabriel manages to kill it...somehow. After a brief respiute, the party hears more gnolls coming in and eat what few goodberries they have while Dante sets up for a frost nova ambush. The female that ran before has returned with several male gnolls. The ambush does not go according to plan as the gnolls get to attack first, but the nove goes off, wiping out most of them. The last female, surrenders to the party and they take her captive to be questioned in Klaar. After healign up outside by the powers of the runecaster, they re-enter the cave network, finding out they have truly wiped out the clan. They raid for treasure, finding some magic boots the orc takes, a magic longsword given to Adora, and a barrel of magical wine. They also find a secret passage that leads to a crypt. It looks to have been recently entered and there are four dead wights on the ground.
They bring their haul back to the city. Jasmine says she does not purchase magical wine, but she can have Esmerelda come look. She offers to bend the odds for the results of the Whimsy Wine for payment. They give her the first taste. She agrees and drinks, filling wisdom and experience.
