Heroes: Aeronne the Paladin of Athena, Ichi the Monk, Mikhail the Psi, Tiana the Water Priestess, Malok the Mage, Low Dog the Totemic Warrior, and Tolus the Fighter
The heroes realized that resting would not work to get spells back, but their ioun stones still were attuning. THey wait the necessary time for them to become attuned. Tiana then communicates with the mimic that she can understand him now, but she cannot talk to him. Once that is done, the party moves into the next room. When the door opens, they find what looks like a bedroom with a nice canopy bed, a table with an empty place setting with a crystal goblet. Tiana pockets the goblet as Malok investigates the bookshelves filled with books written in a script he does not know. Aeronne enters the room but feels decidedly ill at ease and leaves., guarding the door. A soft voice suddenly is heard by Tiana, Malok, and Tolus. "Who disturbs my sleep after so long?" They see a shadow start to appear in the chair at the table. The faint image of an old man in robes starts to appear. Tiana asked," Who are you?" "My name is Draconus the Cursed". After talking a lot, the wizard conveys that he was an enemy of this place and the Chaos Lords who in turn trapped him here for as long as the shrine stands. He will help them with spells and gives them a key piece as long as they swear to destroy this place and in turn free him. They do and Tiana takes the key. They also ask if he can teach them spells and he agrees. He points out his spell books and when he realizes that they plan on trying to preserve them, he points out several other volumes he wishes to be saved if possible. What does not fit, Tiana takes into her backpack. Malok itemizes the bookshelf and places it in his pack. Tiana then takes the silverware and at that point, Draconus asks for a favor, if they have anything to keep him occupied. Aeronne offers a blacksmith puzzle, but Draconus does not seem interested. Tiana rummages through her pack and finds a book titled History of Veluna. She asks if he would like that and he heartily agrees, becoming extremely friendly with the cleric and says if she needs anything, please come back. This room will always be a safe haven. Aeronne and Ichi roll their eyes because of the chaos that permeates the room, but do not say anything. The party then moves to the next room.
When Aeronne and Low Dog get the door open, they see a party of seven camped out in here. Aeronne pulls his shield and weapon, asking Who are you?" Tiana hears the group inside say that they must have gear and then start to attack. Tiana warns the party. The first one is a fighter. He is muscular and powerfully-build bald man with extremely pale, nearly white skin and vivid blue eyes. He is wielding a two handed sword and wearing what looks like a strange form of thin metal armor, like ornamental platemail. The second is a tall, beautiful, statuesque female fighter that is bristling with weapons and is wearing a chainmail bikini. She does not attack yet, but pulls her spear out. Her hair is long and dirty-blonde with a natural wave. Her eyes are hazel-green while her skin is a light caramel. There is a mage with fair skin, angular features, a chiseled chin, short-cropped brown hair and brown eyes. He’s impeccably groomed and clean-shaven, but clearly has much body hair. The next is a woman with skin the color of milk chocolate wielding an iron mace and wearing a green shimmering leather that resembles dragonhide. Her eyes are golden and her hair is long, thick, straight, and variegated with shades of black, white, silver, gray, and gold done in an intricate nordic braid that creates a complicated diamond-shaped, colored pattern. Another is a hairy Asian man with long blond hair and full beard. He is particularly stocky and strong looking, armed with two daggers. There is also a lean, hairless, freckled Latino with reddish blonde hair and orange eyes that is wielding a short sword. The is also a short squat Latino man in the back that exudes masculinity lying on the ground with what looks like injured ribs. Finally, the last member is a short, chubby, androgynous person with pale green skin and reddish-brown eyes. (S)He is totally hairless, but has a pattern of freckles on her head that resembles hair.
The bald fighter attacks Low Dog but misses. He returns the attack and hits. Mihkail shoots a psy blast and knocks the bald fighter and the Asian mage out for a few rounds. Aeronne then enters the room, charging the cleric who begins to cast a spell. He guts her, interrupting her spell casting and stunning her. Ichi moves into the room and hits the female warrior hard. Meanwhile Malok casts Ivard's Black Tentacles, catching Aeronne in the chaos. He deflects them easily, but several members of the opposing group are caught. This includes the female warrior, the Asian mage, and the Latino injured on the ground. The tentacles do much damage over the next few rounds, but then are defeated. Tiana shoots an ice knife at the woman in robes which numbs her and several people around her. Mikhail finds out that the woman in robes is a Psy and deflects his attack as Aeronne brings down the mage. She retaliates by Psy Blasting the party, catching several and knocking them out. Aeronne is then attacked by the female warrior. He takes two large hits as she seems deft at the spear. Before going down, he critically hits her leg, causing her to move slower. Tiana rushes into the room to bring the paladin up with a potion of healing. THe bald fighter tries to hit her as she runs by but misses. After she dumps the potion into the paladin, she takes a few hits from the bald fighter. Ichi takes out the female fighter and stuns the woman in robes with green skin. While she is stunned, Tiana stabs her with her spear, taking her down. Low Dog gets back up as Aeronne Lay on Hands himself to get some health to only be knocked out by the masculine Latino who has stood up with a Psy Blast. The Latino with daggers goes down by Ichi as a strengthened Mikhail attacks the bald fighter, taking him down. The party realizes the Asian mage disappeared, but methodically make sure the rest are dead. Tiana says she has the Psy with green skin, but actually just searches her for loot. Not finding anything, she feeds the unconscious woman to the mimic. They search the bodies for treasure and grab everything. They find a two handed sword, the weird armor from the bald fighter, 2 bronze daggers, Gold Belt with Pearls and Abalone, Chainmail bikini, a pinkish spear that Aeronne cannot tough, but Tiana can, a nice battle axe, gladius, dagger, whip, rope, chakram, Silver and Turquois chain, iron mace, 2 gold rings, a blue ring, and a bronze short sword. Tiana speaks to the ring and asks what it is and it tells her it can alter her appearance if she believes. She tries to look like the female fighter and see her breasts get bigger and her hair looks like the fighters, but nothing else changes. She says oops, I didn't mean to cast that, but Mikhail catches her in the lie after a bit. THe party is trying to figure out what the magic items do, when Tiana points to the mimic and then the chest to ask if it is a mimic. Belvedere mistakes the signs to eat the chest. It explodes in him as a green corrosive gas starts to coat him. Thinking quickly, Tiana douses him with water to wash it off, but he is really hurt. Tiana then gets the idea to protect the mimic by keeping him with the mage. The mage says he can stay, but they need to return to get him. Feeling bad, Tiana gives the mimic her last healing potion which gives him some health. The mage talks to the mimic and he turns into a backpack. Tiana also starts learning the basics of Morganti from the mage to speak basic words. She apologizes to the mimic and says she just wanted to know if the chest was a mimic. She then thinks and asks if the chest held anything. It held a 9000 gp gem she pockets. She then asks the mimic if he can hold stuff for them. He nods and the wizard adds that it must not be organic materials. She sets up a hand signal for please hold this and goes back to the party. Tiana then gets another idea and says she will be right back, but Malok and Tolus follow her. Seeing she won't be able to do this alone, she tells everyone with loot to come. She asks the wizard if he knows what these items are. He says yes and says that the Two Handed Sword is a +3 and has protective qualities, the thin armor is Alitanian armor that resists corrosian, the two daggers and +2 daggers of throwing, the gold belt is a Belt of the Deep, the chainmail bikini is +1, the Orichalcum spear is a spear with a sliver of chaos in it. Tiana lays that down in the room. The battle axe is a Battle Axe of Bloodlust. THe gladius and dagger are not magical and are dropped. The rope is an armored rope, the whip is a +1 as well as the chakram. The Silver and turquois chain is a Bracelet of Shielding. The Iron Mace is a Mace of Magic Disruption. One gold ring is a ring of Freewill and the other is a ring of Greater Storage. The short sword was a +2 and the blue ring was a Ring of Alter Self. Happy with the loot, the party moves on.
