Heroes: Ryder the Rogue, Seraphina the Witch, Maxine the Fighter, Two Rivers the Totemic Warrior, Cyrus the Sorcerer, and Pavo the Mystic of Nog
Having looted the intelligent Lawful short sword, Ryder presented it to the Daimyo in honor of his hospitality. The Daimyo is honored by the gift and acknowledges it as a favor owed to the party. THe group then participates in severalroutine patrols with the Daimyo's men which are relatively boring. After a few day, the party is woken up by city guards and brought out to the village square where a woman with several men all in green livery await. The woman introduces herself as the Sanabarin Tigerhawk. Ryder, most displeased with being awoken, demands to know the meaning of this intrusion on his sleep, looking annoyed at both the Tigerhawk and the nervous looking Daimyo. Tigerhawk then looks at Ryder and kicks him in the face, admonishing him. She then challenges the party to a duel to the death. Ryder asks the Daimyo who this is in which he replies a representative of their Dragon lord. Ryder asks to talk to his people first and admonishes both Seraphina and Cyrus to not use magic as they would be taken away. Ryder tries to talk his way out of the fight, but it earns him a kick to the face which stuns him. Seraphina tries to cause wounds, ignoring Ryder's warning, but misses. Cyrus also misses with his bow. Maxine misses as well. The only person that hits is Two Rivers who spears her through the chest, pinning her down and causing her to gasp weakly. Two Rivers then hits her again, slashing her leg badly. She waves to the Daimyo and her men for help. THe Daimyo then asks the party to nt kill her, it would cause the village endless problems. Ryder agrees and gives Two Rivers the signal to let her go. TigerHawk drops to the ground and the Daimyo motions for Maya to assist her. He then gathers the party in his building, advising them they must leave. THe party will now be seen as a threat by Tigerhawk and the Dragon Lord she reports too. As his favor, he will have his men escort them to a portal nearby with Kochiro to get them off world. The party agrees and leaves as soon as possible.
During their journey, the group is attacked by Bamboo Apes who kill two of the escorts, leaving Kochiro. The party kills two of them, sending the other two running. Moving a little bit forward, four more attack. Two are wounded from the previous battle, but all are killed this time. THe party then has Two Rivers track back to the lair to loot it, thinking they might need the valuables. They find one female in the cave and eliminate her, looting the cave of several magic items and money. They head back to the path, but are attacked by two Cidrian Rainbow Boas. The party kills them quickly and Two Rivers holds onto the bodies. The party then camps for the night, avoid some creepy flying things they see in the night sky.
They move back and find their path to the new gate. They are then blocked by a flock of bird people. They are ready for battle, when Ryder calls for a parley. He asks them to let them pass to get to the gate, promising he and his group wish them no harm. They ask what they get in return. Ryder offers the stone squirrel and the scimitar they picked up at the lair. They are not interested. They do see the Rainbow Boas and ask for them to let the party pass. Ryder agrees under one condition, that they escort the party to the gate so there will be no problems with their people. The birds hesitate, but agree and take them to the gate.
Once through the gate, Kochiro says to look around the marketplace that rests on the other side while he looks for his contact. The party gets new armor, clothing, and healing salves. Pavo tries to get a Flutter kitty, but then gives up when he realizes he has no way to care for it. Kochiro then find the group and introduces them to Tarshem. Kochiro then says this is where they part. Ryder gives him a kiss and his oin to remember him by then joins the Rini caravan that Tarshem sets them up with. He tells them to look for Shellast at the Bubbly Bugbear Tavern. Once there, Ryder approaches the bartender, asking for Shellast. She suspiciously asks why? Ryder tells her he was told to contact Shellast for travel back to their home, Oerth. The bartender perks up and asks what is in it for SHellast. He offers the magic scimitar and the deal is agreed upon. The bartender says it will be a few days so make themselves at home.
To pass the time, Ryder then offers 5 gold to a gnome-like creature that is begging on the street. There are several of these creatures that seem to be abused by the local populace. Ryder is shrewdly negotiated down to 3 gold for the creatures services. Ryder then tries to clean him, but the poor creature scream in fright. He then enlists Cyrus to cantrip the dirt away. It works and the creature, Uyrk, jumps up with joy at being clean. Ryder then gets him some new clothes and tries to unsuccessfully train the little guy. He seems to have an IQ of 2 though so it is rough. Also, none of the local people allow him in their establishment. Frustrated, Ryder dismisses Uyrk and goes to the slave market. Ryder finds a relatively attractive boy and borrows money from Seraphina to pay for him. Happy to have a manservant now, Ryder also realizes Uyrk never went away. Feeling bad for the little guy, he lets him join. A man shows up at the tavern to take the party to their way out. They meet a woman in red by a large stone. She calls herself the Red Witch and ushers the group through a portal. Finding themelves atop a larg mountain, the Red Witch leads their path down the mountain with Seraphina making small talk about the witches circle that she belongs to. Seraphina find out about the Witches of Klarr and vows she will become one of them.
Getting to the bottom of the mountain, they await by a circle of stones. Soon a pillar of light rises up and a man comes out, introducing himself as Andar. The Red Witch seems annoyed by him, but quickly seems to acquiesce to him. He agrees to take them back to Oerth on the condition they do two quests for him. They agree. Andar says he will watch over Yuyan, the manservant, but not Uyrk as they are stupid. He teleports them back to Oerth on some familiar ground. This is where they were held prisoner! Next is to clear the dungeon Andar sets them to.
