After mourning the passing of Lillian, Maya asks Seraphina why she did not save her using Ryder as a translator. Admitting that she does not posses any magical way to heal people, Maya offers to teach her in exchange for a minor quest. Seraphina accepts and is taught the spell. The quest is to get the Harpy Queen's larynx or three harpy larynx if the Queen's is unobtainable. Setting off, the party gathers what remains of them and walks to the place indicated by Maya. She also gives them wax ear plugs to protect against the song of the harpies and they buy protection amulets from here. Everyone has one but Maxine.
They move out and find tracks of a chicken-like creature. When they camped for the night after an uneventful day except for some flying apes that were tracing them, but lost interest, Two Rivers tracked the chicken prints and found three lifelike stone squirrel statues. Also, a villager named Pavo came running up, wanting to assist the party and relieve his life of boredom. Ryder thought they were adorable and kept one. The next day, they set out again. While looking for the harpies, the group enters a clearing where the ground bursts out below them. An unknown creature with three arms, three legs, and three eyes rises, sending Cyrus into a worshipful position. Seraphina takes her cue from Cyrus, but Maxine attacks. Taking his cue from his Great Aunt, Ryder also attack. Maxine hits a solid blow, but it is Ryder's crit that takes the creature down. This sends Cyrus into shock as a creature he saw as an ally was just killed. "He was only going to rob us!" he had exclaimed. "Yeah, no one steals from me," replied Ryder the Rogue. After collecting their thoughts, that is when they started to hear a woman's beautiful song. Ryder immediately put his ear plugs in which saved him from the pull. Maxine and Seraphina put their in shortly after. Pavo and Two Rivers are enchanted by the song and start walking to its source. Using them as a direction heading, they follow them to a tree covered in filth and a disgusting harpy singing in its branches. Ryder hangs back, preparing to backstab when the ugly creature attacks. She swoops in and is blocked by moving past by Two Rivers and Maxine. Ryder comes behind and kills the harpy with a backstab. After harvesting the larynx of the ugly creature, they take her treasure and follow a path of feathers to what they assume would be the next one.
They come to a larger clearing and see a harpy in a tree on the far end munching on a humanoid. She sees the party and swoops in. She en-spells Cyrus, Pavo, and Two Rivers but the spell is broken when Maxine hits the flying crone. Ryder assists but not before the harpy tries to charm Maxine. The charm fails and the harpy is quickly taken down afterward. They harvest the Larynx and move on, not finding any treasure. They follow an easily identifiable path of feathers to an even bigger clearing where three harpies rest. They are surprised by the group and start singing, unfortunately, it does not work for the harpies, The party is using their wax ear plugs and only Pavo is captured. When the three come in Two Rivers manages to shoot one and Cyrus backs him up with a magic missile to the wing. That harpy crashes to the ground and dies. THe other two swoop in, but are easily dispatched by the party. As they harvest the larynx and search for treasure, the ugliest and dirtiest harpy ever seen by the group as she swoops in. THe Queen has arrived. She is much bigger and furious that we assaulted her court. SHe manages to get a charm off on Ryder after he backstabs her which is countered by the witch charm around his neck. The party then descends on her, taking a little bit of damage, but she is quickly brought down. They harvest the larynx and what treasure she had on her and then head off. On the way back, they run into an ogre. He calls out for a nearby friend while he meets the group in combat. He manages to take a party member down and hurt several others before Ryder leaps onto the ogre's back and backstabs him, killing the beast. The second ogre calls out for the dead one and Ryder attempts to imitate an ogre's voice, but fails to convince even the stupid ogre. The new ogre charges in and takes down many of the party members before they can take him down. After hearing more ogres in the distance, the party picks up the fallen Pavo and Cyrus and hoofs it back to the village, making it back with no further incident. Maya is surprised to get five larynx and the Queen's, but rewards them.
