The heroes (Joe StrongArm, Wynd and Thundr, Bethany and Cleo, Rhom StrongArm, Sul Absil the minotaur, Bianca, and Vanity) continue on their quest to drive out the frost giants. The party spent half a minute healing up before heading toward the noise of fleeing creatures. En route, Thundr senses a door open, airflow change, and then a door close again so that the air within the glacier is again still. The heroes move through a pair of partially-looted trophy rooms before assending a flight of primitive stairs into a richly-appointed, massive, dead-end chamber. Wynd immediately picks up the tracks of several giants heading through the wall of the glacier. Rhom wastes no time and shatters the wall, triggering a partial cave-in!
Bethany is trapped and most of her and Cliffy's mirror images removed. Joe uses his massive strength to free the witch while Wynd, Rhom, Sul, and Vanity continue the chase. Ahead of the heroes is a path out of the glacier and ahead the heroes spy a half dozen female frost giants and young. That's when the two polar bears and pack of five winter wolves spring on them and attack. The bears get a lucky bite, crushing Rhom's helm and taking the warsmith out. The wolves scatter through the attackers, breathing and destroying all of Cliffy's remianing images but otherwise causing minor damage. Wynd wounds a wolf and Sul takes out two while Thundr slaughters the pup stupid enough to go after him. The elf also speaks to the bears, asking them to stand down -- the ursines agree but don't want to be hurt by the giants so they're going to just gnaw on the warsmith for a bit... Complete ignored, Cliffy unleashes a chain lightning that savages the giants, killing two outright and leaving all but the now-somewhat-healed chieftaness seriously wounded. Bethany and Joe then arrive on the scene. Things are looking quite good for the heroes...
That's when the a female fire giantess appears silently from invisibility and backstabs Wynd, killing the elf. Joe charges and hacks into the thief and Cliffy nails her with a wizard's wrath, allowing Thundr to finish her off. Sul slays all but one of the wolves and Bethany defends Rhom and forms a front rank by taking on both the polar bears which effectively give the heroes (other than giant Thundr) cover from the giantess' boulders. It turns out that she's under the effects of a potion of speed, but Cliffy manages to toss a feather fall saving the wolf from death. Bianca uses this cover to slide up, whip out her scroll of heal and save Wynd before his spirit departs.
The giants are not doing well. The two young ones suddenly become adult size, but are too wounded to act. Bethany unleashes another dragon breath, this time a spray of acid, finishing most of the frost giantesses and children in the rear as well as the polar bears. The rest of the heroes charge the chieftaness, who dies quickly. Rhom wakes up as does Wynd. The giants were nice enough to collect most of their treasure onto a series of huge sleds that Joe loads into Cliffy's magical house.
The heroes then spend about an hour searching the frost giants' lair, but there's nothing alive remaining. The heroes cross into the dragons' lair, but it too has been cleared out. Wounded and loaded with treasure, the heroes elect to leave. When they return in the morning, the lair is clearly deserted and they leave to deal with River's quest to find and slay the Queen of the Cloud Giants...
