The heroes (Ichi, Shang-Lung, Corona, Shayana, and Zylvanar) bandage themselves up after having defeated the ogres. Corona with Zylvanar and Ichi then escort Deadlock to where Frost and Nikaris are waiting. On the way back, the three spy a lone worg that runs from them. Ichi gives chase and finds himself battle a dozen worgs, one of which managing to break several of his ribs. Corona and Zyl come to his aid and within less than a minute, only two worgs remain alive, both of which run! The three return to the party and the Shayana gives her scroll of cure serious wounds to Corona in order to mend the monk's broken ribs. The heroes then set about searching the rooms off the dwarven audience hall.
The party finds several living chambers, including that of the ogre king and his consorts. There the group also finds a huge treasure chest as well as a captive -- Quellin the Sage. Unfortunately, the ogres have amputated the old man's fingers, but he knows quite a bit about the vampires, gray dwarves, ogres, and their plans. His comments prompt Ichi to search for and find a secret passage to the vampires lair...! Unfortunately, the door beyond is magically trapped. Shayana tries to dispel it, but fails. Shang triggers the trap by shattering the door. The monk/mage is okay and confronts a duergar vampire that tries to charm. Shang plays along and surprise-attacks the vampire. Joined by Ichi, the two make quick work of the undead and then follow his gaseous form. Shang destroys his coffin and the vampire slips through a secret panel which Ichi shatters, and the two monks give chase.
Meanwhile, the worgs the vampire called arrive and brutalize Corona. The druidess falls without having even seen her attackers. Bruenor is forced to fight all five alone, two of these being the worgs Ichi earlier drove off! Zylvanar comes to help while Shayana tends to Corona. The group then follows after the monks and Corona conjures a dust devil which she uses to suck up the vampire's gaseous form. Ichi then uses his magical broom to fly the druidess above the clouds and the sunlight does the rest...!
The heroes regroup. Ichi heads back to town with treasure to give Saanau to feed the people. With the rest of the heroes, meanwhile, Zyl and Corona use stone shape spells to open the treasure chests. The first two times this works well, but the third time lethal gas is released that nearly kills Shang, Bruenor, and Zyl. Only a neutralize poison from Corona and some of Shang's sweet water save the day. Shang teleports back to town. The rest of the party evacuates and recovers the animals, centaur, and dwarves.
The following morning, the party goes through the treasure they found and heal up. As they are very battered and need multiple cure serious wounds spells, they decide that it will be two days before the group can continue. The non-monks use this time to return to the dwarven ruins and collect the remaining treasure. Bruenor picks the lock on the ogre king's chest after Corona dispels the magical trap on it. Later, the group finds and rescues a pair of female hobbits from the ogres' larder. The party searches the rest of the area and after Shayana dispels the magical trap on the boarded up door, the heroes enter and find a dwarven research lab dedicated to Dugmaren Brightmantle, including details on the fall of the Bloodstone dwarves. The heroes use this information to speak to the Regent of the dwarves and locate first two and then three charmed dwarves among his people.
