Half their party suddenly gone, Tasnim and Samirah are faced with a choice. Dive into the magic mirror themselves, alone, without fighter or mage support, OR bring the magical mirror back to the dao. The heroes choose the later, bringing the mirror to the nice cave near the entrance where they sleep the night and heal.
In the morning, the pair, along with Abdul and Alexander, carry the mirror across the wasteland. Around midday, near the ruins, they spy some giant scorpions. The group tries to evade the massive bugs and almost succeeds. One huge scorpion comes after them, but the pair manages to dispatch it. They arrive at the ashira grove around midnight, totally exhausted.
The following morning, the party crosses a huge distance without incident, arriving at the werehyena cave around sunset. They hear giggling within and the werehyena emerges...to magic missiles and a sundazzle! Samirah then uses her new magic scimitar to slaughter the creature which doesn't even manage to attack the right area!
The third morning, Samirah and Tasnim are awoke by Tiberius. He and Asbah are back from the mirror! The pair can't share what happened to them, but they're both clearly changed...Asbah now has an ice mephit with her that alternates between calling her "mistress" and "mother" in a VERY creepy way...! The party reaches the dao's wall around late afternoon but there are a half dozen giant geckos there. Tasnim speaks with them and sends them off to munch on the werehyena's corpse. Asbah then uses a spider climb spell to go over it and get fresh supplies in the village.
The fourth morning, after the full moon, the dao returns and drags the heroes into a game of Genie Backgammon. It allows Asbah and Tiberius to play and winds up losing. The genie wants a rematch and Asbah gets it to agree to "unbind" the others from this area, as she and Tiberius are already unbound. The heroes then beat the dao, this time facing ogre-pieces in lieu of gnoll-ones...clearly, Jamal the dao likes to cheet!
The heroes, now free, wander into the village to rest. The area is different -- half the people are no longer there and they can clearly see the elderly, infirm dragon turtle offshore as well as the iron chains that keep any koalinth at bay. The heroes rest, recover, play with their magical items and plan their next move. Asbah reads the groups' cards and decides their fate is in the ruins...though if they do wait in the village LOOOOONG enough, someone will come to rescue them.
