The party (Tiberius, Nirrana, Samirah, and Tasnim) spend a few days in the Town of the Lost, gathering intel and figuring out their next move. There, the foursome meet first Asbah, a very well-heeled sha'ira from either Huzuz or Gana, and Alsul, a warrior from Muluk. On the morning of the 10th, the group heads back into the canyons to recover any loot they can from the gnolls. The first night, the group camps in a cave at the entry to the larger portion of the canyon. Unfortunately, the cave is not deserted and the party wind up battling a werejackal named Batul. Neither Alsul nor Tiberius not Samirah's weapons hurt the thing, but Nirrana's flames drive it away. The monsters leaves, vowing vengeance. The party finds a few minor items in the cavern which Asbah sets to work repairing with her magics.
The next day, the heroes travel without incident, camping in a small thicket of trees in the evening. It turns out, however, that the thicket is an orchard that's gone wild, home to four ashira. The fey spirits dance for the party with Samirah joining them. The ashira are happy with the party and share their bounty of lemons, coconuts, dates, pomegranates, and more. Tasnim offers to fetch a gardener in town to care for the orchard in exchange for more fruit and the fey creatures agree. In the evening, a small group of large centipedes comes into the camp, but a sleep from Nirrana and a couple hacks from Alsul and Samirah deal with the little pests.
The next day the group reaches their destination mid-morning, discovering that the bodies have already been well-looted. They head back, reaching the Town of the Lost by the evening of the 15th. The group talks with various people in town the next day before finally meeting up with Hamid, who eagerly agrees to accompany the party back. The group leaves the morning of the 17th and again reaches the werejackal's cave by nightfall. This time, however, the cave is full of treasure. A suggestion causes Samirah to enter and invite the party to join her. Soon, however, the trap is sprung and the heroes find themselves battling a lamia! Amazingly, Alsul's shamsheer, Samirah's scimitar, and Niranna's flames do quite a bit of damage to the creature, forcing it to mirror image to save it's own life. The creature only manages to hit twice, each time doing minor damage but also causing PERMANENT wisdom loss. Alsul and Tiberius suffer accordingly. The boy, however, manages to land the killing blow, ending the threat the monster posed (and allowing Tiberius a measure of peace, as his grandfather had been slave to one for 25 years!). Tasnim heals the party up and they sleep well, guarded by Nirrana's illusion and Asbah's alarm spell.
