Badly wounded, the party (Idky, Maedhros, Yavin, Artec, Katya, Hamish, Gilean, Moonleaf, Remort, and Twyll) faces the drow vampiress. Yavin casts detect magic to find the vampire and stands in the vapor so Maedhros is able to target her with a lightning bolt. Moonleaf helps out by faerie firing her. That angers her, so she solidifies and attacks Yavin. Moonleaf moves to engage her as well, and Maedhros moves up to hurl holy water at her. Katya casts acid bolt at her, hitting her squarely. Artec starts shooting at her as well, and she goes down. Moonleaf stakes her, and she turns to a fleshless skeleton.

Yavin casts speak with dead on the dead giant and gets info on the lair and his associates: drow vampire, drow priestess of Lolth (disappeared), drider, drow wizard, demon dragonne, and a succubus. The priestess would have tried to make it to one of the other mountains if she couldn't get through the gate (which she couldn't have). The priestess' name is Jaggedra Thul. The area used to be a beholder lair.
They determine that they are very high up and realize that the priestess is still at large. Hamish the minotaur follows her scent, which leads off the edge. So everyone but Artec and Idky (who as an ogre and centaur can't fit down the narrow tunnel) along with Remort head down the tunnel following the priestess' backtrail.
A short way down the passage they come to the scene of a fight. They see the remnants of a dark elf with a hole in his chest. Farther down, they come to an old mining site. They find the remains of four drow, two turned to stone, one turned to bone, and one bit in half. There are mirrors all along the path. They come to a grotto with some chests with 400 pp, 100 sp, 4 gems (10 gp each). Following another passage leads to a mining chasm. Yavin flies across and finds a shrine to the spider goddess, which he destroys.
In another room they find the arm and leg of a drow and a stone drow. Another chamber looks like a place where people hung out. All around the room is various statuary: three gorillas (gromman, a spelljamming race) and some hobbit-sized "Stitches" in various comical poses. Another dead drow is found down another passage. They come to a rift in the passage, and Yavin flies thorugh and finds traps. The rift leads outside the mountain, another possible escape route for a beholder. They then come to a pit with a collection of petrified creatures. There are more signs of struggle. But they find no other signs of life. So they head back to a side passage they had passed over before.
They find petrified "cave elf," mind flayer, giant ducks, etc. Hamish smashes the mind flayer. There are also a collection of furs and swords. They return to the rest of the party to report. They decide to hole up in one of the large chambers inside the lair. Idky has to borrow Gilean's ring of alter self so he can become an pony centaur and fit through the tunnels.
A dispute arises over whether or not they are in a time dilation. Idky is worried because he doesn't have access to his higher level spells and resists the idea. But Moonleaf casts a nap on most of the party, while Idky holds back. Once he sees that it has no bad effect, he casts it on the rest of the party. They heal themselves back to full, with the exception of some minor crits on some of the party members. They hole up till the morning.
In the morning, Hamish borrows Idky's airwalking earring and he and Yavin go out to look around outside. They are amidst the clouds, so Hamish airwalks up above the clouds. Yavin casts find the path to get directions to the next portal. It points off world. They will probably have to find some method of spelljamming to get to it. They explore the top of the mountain looking for signs of a spelljamming ship. He notices that there's something wrong with this mountain. It's possible the mountain is a beholder spelljamming ship. They find one secret room with a drow sleeping bag in it, but no drow. Yavin casts commune and determines that there are multiple spell-jamming helms on this world (eight questions left for the month).
Eventually, the fog lifts, and they see three other sky mountains. One is five miles to the east, another 50 miles to the south and slightly east, and a third 50 miles to the east and slightly north. Yavin activates his precognition and sees that if they go to the nearer mountain they would fight a lot of little creatures.
Then they remember that the doppelgangers are able to read the unconscious drow wizard's mind, so they allow them to mind rape him. They find out that he is part of a group called The Hand of Vengeance. They are a hit squad specifically sent to kill the party. The priestess who got away is a daughter of Lolth. Her life (and soul) are on the line if she fails this mission. The succubus had a ring of invisibility. The stone giant was a berserker with a holy drow sword, and he specialized in throwing boulders. The drider is the newest member of the Hand of Vengeance. His mace allows him to cast touch spells through it. He has a ring of feather fall and a periapt of wisdom. The dragonne is half demon. The collar is ogre strength. He had all sorts of demonic powers. The vampire had a ring that enhanced her vampiric powers and another of vampiric regeneration. No living creature could wield her maces. She had the ability to suck out the blood of creatures at range. He was trying to pursue a relationship with her. She has coffins all over the place. There are several places on the mountain with dirt from her homeworld. She was very close to Jaggedra. Jaggedra has a host of magic items, she has noble drow powers, and is a daughter of Lolth. She has a queen's scourge. They are mortally afraid of the beholders returning. Their mice-like minions have really nasty crystalline darts with some sort of poison that the priestess couldn't even cure. The priestess has a secret hidey-hole somewhere on the mountain.
