Returning through the portal with Borlon the yuan-ti and Maedhros the taagar is Twyll, an elven man. He joins the party. The heroes (Idky, Maedhros, Yavin, Artec, Hamish, Katya, Kinsa with Dagaru, Gilean, Moonleaf, and Borlon with Nebra) rest the night in Old Neeshfall.
In the morning, during preparation to return to clear out the temple, Maedhros casts stoneskin on himself, thinking that he was clear of the curse. Wrong! He ends up turning his skin into stone instead. Then Borlon takes Moonleaf through to the sahuagin world so she can cast higher level spells on herself. And she too turns into a taagar!
After finishing preparation, Borlon teleports the party back to the temple complex. They appear back in the large temple area. The area has been cleared, so the group heads back outside and find that the darkness over the gate area has been reinstated. Borlon’s light stones are gone. The golems are outside the darkened area. They move toward the golems.
Seven large and four huge spiders scuttle out to meet them as they reach the street level. They finish them off with ease. As they get a little closer, Artec shoots one of Borlon’s continual light arrows toward the portal, bathing the area in light. Nothing scatters away. Moonlight casts entangle on the vegetation around the base of some of the pyramids, catching troglodytes. They start climbing and running out of the area. They shoot and sling many of them dead. Then a female drow darts out of the shadows and casts fireball at the party. It takes out Twyll. Artec shoots a light arrow over in her area to remove the shadows. He shoots her with another arrow, which bounces off her protection from normal missiles. While part of the party stays behind to tend to wounded colleagues, the rest advance on the golems.
Then Idky and Dagaru see three yochlols materialize amid the party. They appear near Artec, Idky, and Hamish. Artec’s beats him to a pulp, which Idky’s and Hamish’s attempt to dominate them and fail. Artec receives a suggestion to attack Hamish, which he resists. Then four ghasts move to attack. Along with them are 21 ghouls and four shadows. A drider casts magic missiles at Hamish but does little damage. Then eight giant spiders join the fray but half get caught in Moonleaf’s entangle. Two giant spiders move toward the party members at the back who are tending downed/wounded comrades. A man-sized fire elemental comes around the corner.
As the yochlols are engaged, Remort attempts to mind thrust the one on Artec but just misses. Kinsa moves over to defend Artec as well. Maedhros and Borlon destroy all the ghouls and two shadows. Moonleaf and Yavin step up to kill the yochlol on Artec. Gilean activates his strength power and runs to the back to engage giant spiders. The two remaining yochlols go gaseous and escape.
Seven more giant spiders move in but two get entangled. A demonic-looking rat appears at the edge of battle. Yavin moves to attack Idky’s yochlol. Borlon destroys the remaining shadows and turns the ghasts. Hamish finishes off the gaseous yochlol.
The fire elemental orients on Borlon. The third yochlol returns and dominates Hamish, ordering him to kill Yavin. A female drow steps out and orders the golems to attack. Then the drider steps out and moves up with them, using one as cover. Remort dominates a giant spider and sends it to attack its fellows.
Yavin kills the yochlol with his demon slaying sword, freeing Hamish. Artec kills the drider by trick shotting arrows off the other golem. Borlon teleports to directly underneath the darkness cloud, readying his Rod of Ra. A female drow lightning bolts him. A male drow zip up to him at incredibly fast speed and attacks him. Another male casts venom bolt at him. Also back there under the darkness with Borlon are ten other drow and two “special” drow.
Borlon invokes the sunray of the Rod of Ra and blinds many of the drow. Meanwhile, Dagaru flies to help out his mistress with giant spiders and rips open the abdomen of one. He cries out, “Dagaru fuck you up!” Artec starts shooting at the drow on Borlon, killing off the incredibly fast one. About half the drow, including one of the females flee the scene. The male casts shadow bolt at Borlon, doing a ton of damage. The remaining female drow flees.
The party whittles away at the remaining spiders. Borlon reorients the Rod’s ray on the male mage, blinding him and many of the fleeing drow. Moonleaf moves to attack the fire elemental. Yavin dimension doors with Artec over where Borlon is in order to start shooting dead the feeling drow. Borlon psychic crushes the fleeing male drow, stunning him.
Artec kills the female drow who fireballed the party. Borlon and Yavin finish off the male drow sorcerer, just after he attempts to drain four levels from Yavin. Hamish chops down the second golem. Artec clears out most of the drow. Only three get away, including the female priestess.
