The party (Idky, Maedhros, Yavin, Artec, Katya, Hamish, Remort, Gilean, Moonleaf, Kinsa, and Borlon) naps in two shifts to regain spells and heal up, while Yavin psi heals the party as well.
After about ten minutes through the first shift (Idky, Maedhros, Katya, Kinsa, and Borlon), the meditating Yavin has a precognitive vision that someone has just initiated some sort of time magic that will be very bad for the party. Some dark elf cast a spell trying to undo the past, but something has gone terribly wrong. He found some spells on tablets that can only be cast on this world. Yavin believes he’s cast some mage version of time pool. He saw him casting the spell at the place where Lolth died. Moonleaf casts know time and discovers that her personal time clock is actually running backward. Yavin casts augury and determine it would be a good idea to investigate
The non-napping party members (Hamish, Artec, Gilean, Remort, and Yavin) decide to go investigate after some preparatory spells and psionic abilities. They leave Moonleaf behind to guard the napping party. The heroes enter the small room outside the large chamber. There are 13 shadows and ten huge spiders in the room. Remort runs back to get Moonleaf to wake Maedhros from his nap; the party needs to turn! Gilean and Yavin move to back up Hamish, who is trying to plug the doorway. Artec starts shooting at spiders.
A giant spider joins the fray. Artec kills it with a single arrow. As the party whittles down the creatures, four more huge spiders and seven shadows arrive. The monsters are starting to encroach farther down the party’s ranks. Then a hezrou walks in and joins the fight. Maedhros also arrives and starts destroying shadows.
Hamish moves to engage the demon but gets swarmed by shadows and spiders. Artec messes up the demon with arrow fire. Remort engages the hezrou psionically with a well-placed mind thrust. The demon panics and runs screaming out of the room. Another huge spider, eight shadows, and two female drow enter the room. One of the drow drops a globe of darkness, negating the magical light. The other attempts to call up a prayer, which fails, of course.
Gilean casts improved magic missile but sets off a wild magic surge and ends up launching missiles at everyone within sight, including the party members! The nice thing is that it kills or damages several shadows and nearly all the spiders. Maedhros flies up to the room and destroys the rest of the shadows in the room. Artec runs into the room and starts shooting at one of the drow. Hamish (with his light of reason) rushes up and engages the other one, damaging her drow armor.
Coming in from the large room beyond are four giant spiders, one large spider, and two driders. The drow facing Artec suggests that Artec “fall at my knees or I will kill all your people.” He succumbs. The driders faerie fire Hamish and Artec as they climb the walls to get into combat. Hamish beheads the drow who suggested Artec, but he continues to grovel on the floor.
Gilean pulls the critically-wounded Yavin back and feeds him his potion of healing. Maedhros, who flew up to engage a drider, gets his jugular opened up for his trouble. Hamish’s drow drops behind her giant spiders. Then another drider, a vrock, a hezrou, and a female drow.
They also notice that standing over the spot where Lolth was killed is a male baby drow, apparently the mage who attempted to cast the spell. Then some type of temporal effect goes off, and Remort feels like his clothes don’t fit so well anymore.
Remort drags Artec back and out of the room. Hamish falls back, bringing his opponents back with him. Moonleaf, who has become aware of the turmoil, runs down the hallway to use her fear aura to help out her friends. Remort finds that he is getting younger. He’s now only 10 years old!
Moonleaf fears the spiders into a corner. The drow priestess attempts to command her but fails. Moonleaf responds with a faerie fire, catching a drow and a drider. Maedhros, who retreated to a corner with his bleeding wound, casts bless off a sahuagin macrame. One of the driders that got too close to Moonleaf runs away in fear. Its faerie fire light reveals some ogres at the far end of the large chamber.
Suddenly, they hear a high-pitched voice say “In my name, stop!” It’s Gilean using his alter self ability to look like Lolth in humanoid form. Moonleaf runs into the room to meet the ogres. She fears one. The other two attack her. Remort continues to get younger. He is now 8 years old. Moonleaf leads the ogres on a merry chase, fearing the remaining drow in the process, including the little boy used-to-be-mage. Yavin uses Artec’s orange goo on his wounds, removing some of his critical injury.
Gilean casts fiend fire at an ogre, stunning him. Two more shadows show up. Gilean casts another fiend fire and sets off another wild magic surge, disfiguring his right arm. Maedhros turns the shadows, while Moonleaf kills one of her pursuing ogres. Yavin moves to assist Hamish. Remort is now 5 years old and would have been younger, but his ioun stone saves him as it burns out. The hezrou loses morale and flees, ordering ogres into the room as he goes. They don’t listen to him.
Hamish finishes off an ogre and goes to help out Moonleaf. Remort is able to halt the regression further with what psi power he has left. The party loots the bodies and behead the humanoids and driders. They scoop up the baby Remort and return to the nap room.
Meantime, the temporal effect also affects the nappers. Borlon loses 20 years. (Kinsa and Katya need to roll at next game.)
