Just as the party (Idky, Maedhros, Yavin, Artec, Katya, Hamish, Remort, Gilean, Moonleaf, Kinsa, and Borlon) is regrouping and healing up, three succubi, a vrock two hezrou, and a glabrezou teleport into the room and two yochlols and two giant spiders enter through the wall of fire. One yocholol and a hezrou get killed immediately from magic missiles and Artec’s arrows. Hamish attacks the other yochlol, which dominates him and makes him remove his armor. One of the giant spiders gets affected by Moonleaf’s fear and runs back through the wall of fire. The other one jumps on Artec. One succubus gets royally clobbered by Yavin, while the other two unsuccessfully to suggest and charm Borlon and Idky. One vrock attacks Kinsa. Katya blasts the glabrezou with a waterbolt spell, pushing it over toward Hamish. It then moves to attack Hamish.
Gilean tries to help out Kinsa by mind thrusting her vrock, but he misses. Yavin leaps over to take Artec’s giant spider, stunning it. The succubus that Yavin attacked decides to teleport away. The glabrezou teleports over to Hamish and starts attacking him. Artec kills the yochlol with arrow fire, freeing Hamish from the domination. The succubi on Borlon and Idky continue attacking mentally and magically but can’t seem to connect. Borlon ends up engaging Idky’s succubus in psionic combat, hitting her with mind thrust. Gilean hits Kinsa’s opponent with id insinuation, who gets enraged and starts attacking Maedhros, who had flown over to distract it. Kinsa is able to get away from it. The spider on Yavin reveals its true form, a yochlol, and flails Yavin nearly to death. Idky’s succubus teleports away (and later goes unconscious from lingering acid damage). Gilean casts IMM at the hezrou. Yavin finishes off his yochlol. Borlon psi blasts the succubus and glabrezou, freeing up Hamish. Artec finishes off the glabrezou and the vrock. The final succubus teleports away.
The party heals up, Maedhros does reconnaissance beyond the wall of fire, and Moonleaf starts pulling bodies out of the fire to check them for treasure. Thats when two glabrezou walk through the wall, get near Moonleaf, and get feared. Maedhros reports that he saw three feared yocholol huddling over on the other side.
Between an astral window spell, telepathy, moment, and probability control, Yavin guides Remort’s soul back into his body. Unfortunately, he doesn’t wake up at first until he gets a cure light wounds. His face has no muscle tone, and he is now deaf. Borlon tries to cure deafness, but it doesn’t work for some reason. He can’t seem to talk very well when he does speak. He seems to be okay mentally, though. He also seems off-balance when he tries to walk.
They decide to try to exit the double doors at the other end of the chamber. Borlon’s find traps reveals that they are trapped. Kinsa’s knock spell opens them, but they’re still trapped. So Katya casts monster summoning I to send a bunch of ants through, and they get incinerated by fire. In the adjoining room are all the turned undead and feared creatures: 11 huge spiders, 9 ghasts, 15 ghouls, 5 large spiders, and one giant spider. Also here are three driders and 9 shadows.
Hamish and Yavin move to the door to block it. Borlon and Maedhros start turning undead, Artec starts shooting a drider, and Remort mind thrusts another drider. During the melee, Kinsa sleeps 8 huge spiders.
A drider jumps out and attacks Remort, nearly killing him. The shadows swarm out of the room to attack the party members. A number of the smaller spiders do likewise. Borlon and Maedhros clear the shadows off the party, while Katya casts Melf’s acid arrow on Remort’s drider. The badly-damaged Remort time steps. And odd thing happens, though. The dead flesh on his face doesn’t go with him! Artec kills Remort’s drider with a volley of arrows.
The remaining drider inside the room peeks out and casts fireball. A wild magic surge causes it to also explode in his area, killing a bunch of spiders. Fortunately, no one in the party is too badly damaged.
Remort loses his shit when he realizes that his face is missing flesh. He panics and stays time shifted for longer than he originally intended.
Yavin kills the drider, and the party mops up the rest of the monsters. The party gets concerned when they notice that Remort hasn’t appeared yet. About twenty seconds later, he finally pops back in. He is absolutely hideous.
