After returning from their previous raid, Borlon mind rapes the captured and charmed sahuagin to get information about the sea-devils' lair.
The party (Maedhros, Kinsa, Artec, Hamish, Katya, Remort, Borlon, Gilean, and Moonleaf) finds out that there are two more barons (formerly called princes) assigned to protect the island. The prince (formerly baron) the party recently killed was the replacement for one of the princes. There were 9 princes (formerly called barons), 29 barons (formerly called princes), and a king.
He knows baron Nihagata. The city has 17 guard towers with about a dozen in each. Mako sharks (about 6) patrol around each tower. There are a number of nurseries with “fingerlings,” with priestesses in charge. There’s an amphitheater, part of which has air for gladiatorial games with air-breathers, though there has not been any non-marine creatures seen in more than a generation. The sahuaghin do have a great priestess. Their king has been alive for several generations and is over 9 feet tall. They used to have “angelfish men” (locathah) as slaves, and they have a giant octopus for arena games.
There are three baron outposts in the lagoon area, about 60 feet down, protected by 24 warriors, 8 lieutenants/chieftains, a baron, sharks, and probably a priestess. They also blanket the area with darkness stones.
The party decides to try to capture one of the barons with the goal to telepathically interrogate him. They prepare to travel between worlds but cannot bring Moonleaf along since the idea is for Idky to plane shift them to the other world. The cleric of Fharlanghn casts the spell and the party appears in the water. After Maedhros casts commune with nature to find out where they are and which way to go, Borlon teleports them all the eight miles to the island. Borlon casts commune with nature from the island to try to locate the outpost. He finds out that there is a slight magical disturbance somewhere in the city. He senses about 600 sahuagin in the area. The area feels out of balance. He then telepathically scans the area for a sahuagin mind. He gets a tough prince’s mind. He sees their forces: 12 regulars, 4 massive great white sharks, prince Mantikook (this guy), 2 lieutenants, a priestess, and 24 other sahuagin. About ten more sahuagin are swimming around the perimeter.
The prince detects the intrusion but doesn’t know what it means. They communicate with the other guard posts. He suspects air breathers are spying on/scrying them. He then figures that he’s being summoned by the great priestess. He sends a couple of swimmers to check on the city. Borlon continues his “observation.” The prince starts thinking about something called “the deep chasm,” about 800-1200 feet deep, where the great priestess has her lower temple.
The party (minus Artec) decides to attack. Borlon and Maedhros, with protections from lightning on them, teleport right on top of the prince and priestess. Also within 20 feet are: 10 skeletons,11 stronger sahuagin, 2 sharks, and 10 regulars. Maedhros lets loose with a lightning bolt as soon as they pop in. The blast kills almost everyone in range and stuns everyone else, including the prince and the priestess. Borlon immediately casts hold person on the prince, priestess, and a random sahuagin, catching them all. They then kill off the sharks.
The rest of the party teleports in about 17 feet away, courtesy of Katya (via a diminuation spell from Maedhros, Remort and Kinsa have been shrunken to doll-size). Then the other sahuagin start moving in. Sleep spells, magic missiles, psychic crushes, mind thrusts, and good old-fashioned swordplay decimate the remaining sahuagin and sharks.
Katya manages to summon four killer whales, and she gives them instructions to defend the party from any incoming sahuagin. Unfortunately, Remort thinks they’re sharks and mind thrusts one of them. Three incoming sahuagin bolt when they see the orca. The orcas pursue and start killing them; two die within seconds and the last one sprints for the sahuaghin city, dying tired. With the orca providing a defense perimeter, the party gather up the held prince and priestess. Katya casts steed to call a seahorse to help tow the prince ashore. Hamish carries the priestess off, and Maedhros carries the doll-sized party members. As they prepare to leave, five really large sahuagin, a tiger shark, and a priestess move in. The orcas move to intercept, but some get through. Remort mind thrusts a shark, and Gilean casts scare at two sahuagin, who end their pursuit.
The priestess dispels Katya’s summoning, which releases two of the four orcas from Katya’s control, but they continue to attack sahuagin. Hamish sees the priestess and charges her, also calling Borlon over. He mind thrusts her to try to keep her off balance. He then holds her. Meanwhile, the tiger shark attacks Katya and Maedhros kills it with improved magic missile.
Borlon and Maedhros charm one sahuagin and use him to get Maedhros and Borlon up near the sahuagin guarding the gate. Then Maedhros lets loose with a lightning bolt, and the party mops up whatever’s left. They return through the gate.
