The heroes (Rhanée with Emrys, Zauloman, Locke with Grendel, Tolinar, Tolus, Corona, Kymmera with Fewmets, Pudic, and Redwolf) encounter Jacks, another druid of Traala. The group continues exploring the elven ruins. Entering the structure, the heroes battle ghasts, shadows, and ghouls. Tolinar's arrows wither the corporeal undead, but the shadows are a problem. Finally, the heroes encountering the nabassu again as it tried to (unsuccessfully) spy on them. Working together, the heroes pound on the demon with Rhanée keeping it off-balance through psionic attacks so it cannot flee. Kymmera quaffs a potion of hill giant strength and first knocks the fiend off balance and then later delivers the killing blow, though Pudic, Tolinar, and Locke did the vast majority of the fighting. The liens on Pudic and Rhanée's souls gone, the heroes search the area a bit more and locate a magical fountain. Most of the heroes drink and have their lost strength restored or wounds heal.
The heroes spend the night and finish searching the place. In the morning, the heroes' status use Rhanée's mirror to return to Dragondale, except for Corona and Jacks who remain behind.
