After rescuing more than 100 prisoners of Iuz' dungeons in Dorakaa and transporting them back to Veluna City, Mizzrie casts nap on the group as well as the wizardess, Chastity Wu, and Papal Advisor, Harbinder Prandoori. An hour later, shortly before sunset, Harbinder open another wormhole allowing the heroes (Prince Garlok with Timrith, Mizzrie, Aeronne, Pudic, Helga, Cliffy, Skye, and Dion) to re-enter the upper levels of the prison. The group scouts around the rest of the building they're in, finding several captives who had been surviving in temporary holding room for more than a day. They also found several blood-drained bodies as well as battled and defeated a mature vampire and her three underlings.
From there the group crossed to the other prison building, closing both portcullis into these buildings with Cliffy's skill. In the other building, the heroes encounter a pair of huge, untrained tyrgs. Cliffy magic missiles them, sending them racing away, but Mizzrie later charms them both. The heroes then find and set free another 60 or so innocent people after battling more than a half dozen ogres. This fills up Cliffy's magical house, but the group continues.
Unfortunately, at this point, the group finds and battles a fully-mature and soul-rich nabassu. The demon leads off by stealing Helga's life. The dwarf invokes her boon with the Gods of the Dead, staving off her demise for a few moments. Amazingly, the combined power of the party is enough to slay the demon in this time, releasing the dwarf.
The group then continues on and locates the last upper level cell block. They set about freeing victims here, though most have had their souls drained by the nabassu or blood drained by the vampires.
Suddenly, a small party of six elite anti-heroes attack the party. A female and male fighter supported by a cleric of Iuz strike from one side while a drow wizard (Snake), a second mage, and a druid attack from the other. The heroes manage to defeat both fighters in combat after Dion holds the druid. Snake and the cleric of Iuz both escape while the wizardess is incinerated in Dion's wall of fire.
The heroes then return to Veluna with both their three new prisoners as well as the various victims of Dorakaa they've rescued. Unfortunately, the party never had a chance to explore the middle level of Iuz' dungeons...
Back in Dorakaa, Tandris scours the minds of all three captives. They are part of an elite group of mercenaries, serving the Boneheart. They chose to hold up in the dungeon and wait for the chaos in the city to pass. Their logic was that the prison is generally an undesired location to loot, except for hungry undead, which the cleric can command. Further, while demons are sadistic, they're also not stupid and would rather deal with defenseless prisoners trapped in cells than powerful evil adventurers who can fight back. And, the plan almost worked for them...until the party arrived. None of the three know how to get to the lower levels or what is held there. They also have no knowledge of any soul gems BUT they would imagine such items would be kept in Iuz' private rooms and/or with his two chief priestesses (the leaders of the Boneheart), Halga and Althea. The three heard unconfirmed rumors that Althea and her half-orcish bodyguard were slain about the same time as Iuz. Halga has not been seen in Dorakaa since the Battle of the Saints, although she normally remains in the city.
If a group returns, they can be healed by the Angellian clerics BUT most of the party's spell casters are out of spells. As a result, only party members with inexhaustable resources (plus the largely-untapped psis) should return. That means Garlok, Timrith, Aeronne, Pudic, Ichi, Cliffy (as a thief, he's invaluable), Skye, Tandris, and Anasta. Helga can go, but she'll be more of a fighter than a cleric. Same for Mizzrie. Healing will be a problem, but it's unlikely many prisoners could survive two days in their cells after the fall of Iuz. Oh, yeah, and by now, since it's winter, the sun should be set over Dorakaa, so you'll need some other plan to deal with vampires.
I leave it up to the party members to decide what they want to do. Keep in mind, however, that you are the only hope of anyone still a captive of Old Wicked's prison.
