The heroes made camp in a lovely spot complete with a nearby hot spring and secluded, easily-defended path; obviously a place shaped through magic by earlier visitors to the valley. In the night, a tiger got caught in one of Thera's wyvern watches and Laurel spoke to him. Haughty, Sheer Khan warned the group to stay away from HIS game in HIS jungle...
By late morning, the group reached the Indus river and began heading up-stream, only to again spot Sheer Khan stalking them. Later, within the jungle, Jellie was accosted by a lone monkey who stole some of her trinkets. Laurel again proved invaluable as she spoke with the monkey and learned what was about. He turned out to be none other than Hanuman, King of the Monkey and friend to humanity. He gave the heroes some advice, but about that point Sheer Khan pounced on Soren. Trillian's rope took the fight out of him almost instantly. Exchanging information (and taunting the tiger), the monkey king and his minions moved on. Later the group encountered a group of black, seemingly menacing rams, but a fear spell from Jellie sent them scampering.
Near the end of the day, Trillian came up with the idea to again use lighten loads and levitates along with the magic broom to cover the majority of the jungle valley. An excellent plan, the heroes were within a mile or so of the Womb of the Earth before the transportation magic failed and they all tumbled to earth.
The group spent the night almost directly below the aurora borealis, enjoying a beautiful show.
In the morning of the 26th, the group met a pair of rakshasa. The beasts proved exceedingly powerful and were it not for a lucky critical hit from Soren and a surged spell by the other rakshasa, the heroes would probably have fallen. But the party was victorious, sending Gordanaman and Vritraya from the mortal world.
Later in the day, a pair of lammasu, Govardhana and Pasurama, came upon the group. Accidentally mistaking the heroes as evil, the lammasu nearly attacked, but ultimately offered much healing aid as well as information on the nature of the Valley.
In the afternoon, the group came to the mound, the Womb of the Earth, and straight away Trillain spied a cave to enter. Instead the group moved on, meeting the Trickster, Mara.
In the middle of the night Nazaru Aevarnira, a type V demoness, appeared amidst the sleeping heroes and attacked. Armed with six magical weapons, one in each hand, she quickly had the heroes in dire straights. Nearly everyone was on the verge of death and it was only with luck that the heroes, after a very long battle managed to drive the demoness off. Only Soren, Jellie, and Trillian were on their feet and the demoness was sorely wounded enough to flee.
In the morning, the heroes, somewhat healed, tracked the demoness back to her lair and slaughtered her. There, the heroes spent most of the 27th, resting.
The morning of the 28th, the group met the arrogant asuras (there are any other kind) Durvasas. He also healed the group and offered to break the rules of man and god to help them achieve their quest. Ultimately, Jellie talked the asuras out of it, so instead he flew about the valley, hunting the slaadi tracking the group.
Later in the day the group came upon a beautiful lagoon with magic plants, but moved safely along. Then they found another cave and did battle with six topi (shrunken-head zombies) and their spirit naga master.
Finally, in the afternoon, the group met Urdulushan, a rakshasa yogi, who offered to help the heroes. Only Andorallan and Jellie accepted his support. The heroes spent the night again under the glow of the sky-lights, with Urdulashan nearby, killing MOST things that got nearby.
Three bhuts, however, came upon the sleeping group and proved quite dangerous. They seriously wounded many of the heroes before being vanquished. In the morning (of June 1st), Urdulushan again appeared and again healed and strengthened Andorallan and Jellie.
Mid-morning of the June 1st, the heroes finally found the entryway into the Womb of the Earth. Already warned by Urdulushan that the way was guarded by a trio of ogre magi (representing the joining of each of the three worlds), the heroes were ready and made fairly quick work of the monsters. Unfortunately, they also knew that this would be the last place they would be able to rest before entering the Womb. As a result, they spent the day in the cave mouth, healing and tending their wounds.
Now, on the 2nd of June, the heroes are MOSTLY healed, but must decide whether or not to wait longer or enter now...
